withdrawl symptoms [May. 17th, 2006|09:27 pm]
So when I started watching Supernatural, it was exciting because all at once there was this new show to watch, and it was all new, and I could sit and watch it for hours and there would still be more episodes I hadn't seen yet. That is not true anymore. So now I have a craving for it, like how you can get a craving for, say, Milwaukee Frozen Custard (which I was thinking sounded really good the other day). I want new SPN. Now, I could help ease the withdrawl symptoms (wincest fanfic = methadone) but I really, really need to do school reading. And that sucks. Damn me and my procrastination. If I had spread the show out and did more homework, I would still have episodes left, or I would have some time to read fic. But I didn't, so I lose at life. Poo.

Another update: whoda thunk it? [May. 10th, 2006|07:48 pm]
I've finally given in and installed Foxfire. This tab thing is pretty cool. And it isn't such a scary concept when I don't have Lucy hanging over my shoulder, telling me she will kill me if I accidently close her tabs :)

*shock!* *gasp!* *faint!* [May. 7th, 2006|09:29 pm]
Look, Allie is actually updating! Well, I have a history midterm on tuesday, which means I've been doing everything but studying for it today. So I watched some SPN, took screencaptures of the wincest, and then reorganized a bunch of random pics on my computer, which inspired me to make wallpapers. So here is a so-so Ritska/Soubi one: Loveless

And the one that makes me happy because no others from this fandom exist anywhere (to my knowledge) Beauty and the Beast

Please don't laugh. Of if you do, don't tell me. I already know I really do need to get a decent graphics editing program, because Paint just really looks sad. But at least it satisfied my urge to make wallpapers.

LotR:RotK easter egg [Apr. 7th, 2005|07:19 pm]

[music |Dom's german voice]

Ok, I just found out about this. If you haven't seen the prank interview, go to the first disc of the extended version of Lord of the Ring: Return of the King, go to Select A Scene, go to the last scene "Siege of Gondor" and press the down arrow key, then select the ring. This is brilliant. I love the hobbits.

hmmm...haven't updated in ages. oh well. just got back from anime club. i decided to check it out for the first time today, and it was quite good. man anime is good. you have to love that type of people too. it wasn't just a little anime. it was 8 HOURS STRAIGHT. ok, there was an hour luch break. but still.

oh, and you know how the world it all coincidencey sometimes that it is freaky? so id heard of anime club a while back, but just never got around to going last semester. then i planned on going last friday but my grandma came into town so i hung out with her instead. after that i told myself that come hell or high water, i was going next friday. so this tuessday i had sat down at a random table where some girl was sitting during lunch to play with my laptop between classes. eventually some friend of hers comes over to sit down and they start talking. i then try to not obviously listen in on their conversation, because that would be rude. i give side glances every once and awhile because i think the guy is somewhat cute, and then am amused when they start talking about japanese and other geeky/alternitive stuff. i thought that of all the tables to pick to sit at, i picked the interesting one, go me. later this week i had the random passing thought that it would be funny if the guy ever attended anime club, because he speaks japanese. so today i walk into the club and there he was standing in a black trenchcoat. it was just one of those weird things, you know? life just has a way of becomming related, like attracts like type of thing. had never seen this guy on campus before, and then he is that coincidence link.

so i sat through hours of shows i hadn't seen before, which wass cool. trenchcoat guy was really nice. i think his name was eric. too many boy names to remember. there was one other girl there earlier, but she left before the dinner break. yeah, which back to trenchcoat guy. i was going to leave at the break because i had parked on the way far side of campus, and didnt want to walk there and then come back, but then right as i was leaving trenchcoat guy asked me if i was coming to dinner with the rest of them, and offered me a ride. so i crammed into a small car with four other guys and went to George Burger, where i got a quesadilla. was terribly amused by discussions of roleplaying, guns, winnie the pooh on weed, senator john mccain really being a robotic cat, joss being gay then not gay then offering to be gay for me if thats what i was into (at which point i about died because he was joking and had no clue that yes, that would have made me happy). god that made me miss TJ. they got into a discussion about how winne the pooh and the hundred acre woods was a metaphor for communist russia. it was good to get a dose of geeky intellect.

Election Day [Nov. 2nd, 2004|11:33 pm]
[mood |aggravatedaggravated]

I did my civic duty earlier today, and after all day of being antsy, flipping around the news channels every five minutes, I tried going to bed. Didn't really happen. Went to check email and ended up reading opinions on the BBC website. This is my favorite:

I am voting for John Kerry because he is a flip-flopper. It takes a mature mind to change one's position when you realize that you are wrong. Bush's steadfast leadership amounts only to stubbornness.
Rob, Aspen, Colorado

Oh, and Peltier was on the ballot? How exactly does a man in jail run for president? I got the urge to vote for him as fuck you kind of statement to the whole election system, but couldn't do it. The little voice in me said not to weaken Kerry by even one vote. Bush has to go. I made the mistake of watching this documentary, I think it was called Unconstitutional, last night about the abuses of people's rights that came out of 9/11 and the Patriot Act. I was so mad and actually felt sick to my stomach. I couldn't go to bed and had to stay up for another hour and a half watching SNL's presidential bash to lighten my mood.

I'm tired, I need to go to bed. Will not check CNN....will not check CNN....will not...damn. Stupid Ohio and Iowa. What do you mean you stop counting because of "fatigue?" Dumbasses.

The Summer Update From Hell [Aug. 30th, 2004|04:16 pm]
[mood |accomplishedaccomplished]

The title is eyecatching, isn't it?

This is dedicated to the few people who actually read my lj, and who tell me I need to update more. It is also an apology for falling off the face of the earth for the past couple weeks.

I was going to comment on prom, grad, and general end of school stuff, but it has been so long now, and to tell the truth, I'm just too damn lazy. So moving on.

Flew to California to spend a few weeks with my Aunt Nicky and look around at colleges and apartments. Finally rented Kill Bill, which was awesome. Stuffed myself at the Del Mar fair. My dad drove my car out here for me to use in 3 days. That was insane. He was actually SLOWED DOWN by storms in Tennessee and Texas. I don't even want to imagine that trip. According to him, all he ate was bad free coffee from the motels, animal crackers, and corn nuts. Oh, some almonds too. And he didn't bring any music with him, so he stopped at a Cracker Barrel and bought their brand cds (Fiesta music, Irish Hymns, and Country). This was after he had listened to the only cd that I had left in the player several times. It makes you wonder exactly how many times the normal person must listen to Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me to realize that it is the only track on the cd. We know it took my dad quite a few times.

So, he arrived and we did stuff, found me an apartment and paid the down payment, registered my car and got California plates, visited with Grandma and Auntie Linda for all of 2 hours (which they tried to guilt trip us on) and flew back to Virginia.

Got to see my Swetha and Lucy and had much fun. Watched Troy, Spiderman 2, and Shrek with my dad; all were very good. Got to see Meera for a lttle bit when I claimed my copy of Wicked. WICKED. Oh my god best ever. Went to see it on Broadway with Lucy on July 11th. It was just so good. Randy Harrison played Justi- I mean Boq, very well. But he was still a stupid loser for not going to the stage door. Ate yummy Thai food from street vender and got a shirt. Swetha got me the soundtrack for my birthday and I listened to nothing else for about a week and a half. Finished watching QAF season 4 with Lucy, then ran away with the first 3. Surprised Lucy for her birthday with Swetha and just had fun.

I packed up all my stuff and flew for the last time to California on July 25th. This was when I picked up all the flea bites at my Grandma Nesa and Auntie Linda's house. That was such hell. I actually ended up getting physically sick, throwing up in the restroom at Tilly's (a store). I still have red marks all over my legs (where the bites were the worst). The bites scarred and are pretty obvious against my pasty-white Virginia legs.

Drove Cait to Hollywood to go to the Teen Choice Awards on her birthday (Aug 8). Went to see Bourne Supremacy with olds friends instead of going to award show, a very wise decision in my opinion.

A not so wise decision was I decided not to return to Virginia one last time. I never had a "last hurrah" with Lucy, which was stupid of me.

August 14th went to my Great-Grandmother's 80th birthday party. It was cool. I got to see my Grandma Sandy and my Grandpa, plus meet a lot of my Grandma's family I hadn't before. My favorite relative by confusing marrige bonds is my Grandma's cousin Alan. He became my new favorite person. Very loud and obnoxious. You would peg him for gay, but he isn't. At least according to my Aunt Nicky. Played pool with him and had fun. After pool we went downstairs to eat, which was when he said "Is this your sister?" Then turned to Cait "You're cute!" It freaked the hell out of Caitlin to have this man she has never met before come up and start telling her how good she looked. He then continued on talking about all sorts of stuff, freaking out Cait because she still doesn't know him (or that I kinda knew him) and was trying to figure out if her was hitting on her. So much fun.

Returned from party, got digital cable hooked up and high-speed internet. Left the next day for Vega with Aunt Nicky, my 2 year old cousin Alexandria, and Caitlin. Was much fun. The Bellagio fountains were gorgeous. Kept makng beefcake jokes with my aunt because there were Thunder From Down Under signs everywhere. Wish I could have gone. Cait got the stomach flu and had to stay in the hotel for 2 out of the 3 days. She was really bummed. We went to the Tournament of Kings without her because we already had tickets. It was the dinner show at Excaliber, the eat with your hands and watch knights and jousting and hot men in long hair run around in tights type. It was SO GOOD! I loved it. We were in the Ireland cheering section, and our king was the hottest in my opinion. My aunt and I loved it when token beefcake came out. They had these four guys to walk around looking tough: all muscley, and wearing nothing but black tights with leather panties over top. Totally advertising for their other show (Thunder From Down Under, the previously mentioned, 2 year old unfriendly show).

Drove back to Oceanside, and left 2 days later for a couple nights in Hollywood. Stayed in the Hollywood Rennisance Hotel (by the kodak theatre, very cool). We were on the 18th floor. Awesome view. Went to brunch with my aunt and Uncle Devin's highschool friend Zack and his lgirfriend who he's living with, Lucy Lu. As in Charlie's Angels Lucy. It was cool, and the two of them were so adorable together. Alexandria took to Lucy really quick, and halfway through the meal was playing Miss Mary Mack in Lucy's lap. Funny sidenote for my Lucy: Lu doesn't like the name Lucy all that much either and wishes she had something more exciting. I didn't ask her if she got I Love Lucy jokes all the time and if they pissed her off.

Returned to my lovely apartment once more and started school on the 23rd. In the first week I already managed to sleep through an 8am class because I set the alarm wrong. School seems like it will be good. Invited a classmate named Chelsea to the apartment warming my aunt is throwing me this saturday. I have a friend! I won't be a (completely) sad loser! Cait flew back home two days ago. I got a coffee table and chairs. I am pretty much set except for saucepans and a dresser. My dad has a business trip to Long Beach on Wed/Thurs, so he is visiting me on Fri/Sat (here for the party because my aunt made him, even though he didn't want to, being the anti-social wallflower he is). I need to clean up before then and actually put food in my fridge. He is going to be annoyed if there is nothing but soda, frozen taquitos and ice cream.

Ok, I think that was it. Anything I left out either wasn't important or I didn't think about it becasue I have a terrible memory. This has been The Summer Update From Hell. Thank You.

and the youngest of the trio is legal! [Jul. 28th, 2004|08:41 am]
[mood |irritatedirritated]
[music |Kissing A Fool]

So I'm at Aunt Nicky's house right now. Flew into Long Beach on sunday to pick up my car anf visit with my Aunt Linda and Grandma Nesa. Me and Cait slept on their couches that night then drove down to Oceanside the next morning. I believe that their front room couch was infested with millions of fleas, because I got eaten alive. I've counted 60 individual bites, and there are [robably a couple more I missed. First thing I'm doing today is buying enough cortizone to fill a bathtub. Happy Birthday to me.

After me and Cait got here we got the keys to my apartment and went to Target to get stuff for it. I love it so much, it is just awesome. When I get it set up a little more I will send pictures to people.
